Ben Nevis has gained the reputation of being that “Funky Monkey” distillery. Known for being one of the last distilleries in Scotland to use brewers yeast in their fermentation, the house style is unmistakably earthy and oily. The Spanish Oak Oloroso maturation adds layers and layers and layers (and layers) of chocolate. Yum!

COLOR: Warm Honey

NOSE: Intriguing combination of the funky (warm potting soil, screeching tires, machine shop oil, and party balloons) and the sweet & nutty (strawberry Starburst, pistachio ice cream with dark chocolate drizzle, and toasted hazelnuts).

PALATE: Earthy and funky with tremendous heft. Expect cocoa dusted chocolate cake with chocolate ice cream, warm fruit compote, freshly ground nutmeg, fresh gs, and chocolate covered dates and raisins.

FINISH: Long and lasting with lingering chocolate (in all its forms but now with added chocolateTootsie Pop).
