Foursquare Equipoise Rum 750ml

Foursquare’s Exceptional Cask Series represents the most unique and coveted rum from this celebrated distillery. Hand-selected by Richard Seale himself, each release aims to achieve balance relative to a desired profile, resulting in distinct vintages. Equipoise, meaning “state of balance or equilibrium,” is a dark and intriguing entry with bold complexity from beginning to end.

• A 14 year; double-maturation Single Blended Rum, consisting of both Artisanal Pot and Traditional Twin Colum Coffey distilled molasses rum.
  
• Aged first for 10 years in Ex-Bourbon Barrels, then 4 additional years in Ex-Calvados Casks. All aging, blending and bottling occurring entirely on-site at Foursquare Rum Distillery in Barbados. Bottled at 60% ABV.
• TASTING NOTES
• Initial Impressions: Complex and intriguing, dark, compelling layers reveal themselves more and more over time in glass.
  
• Aroma: Chocolate Truffles, Maduro Cigar Pipe Tobacco & humidor. There is an earthy and rich element in the nose, balanced by rounded fruits and a bright apricot/orange blossom floral note in the background.
  
• Palate: Rich and expressive but with an underlying bright citrus note, layers of berries, cacao beans, caramelized orange and a hint of nuttiness evolve into a subtle spice, leather and a hint of pipe tobacco on the close. Overall bold and complex that lingers on the palate.
