Single Malt Japanese Whisky distilled and aged in Hokkaido • Distilled from a combination of both British and locally grown two-row barley, moderately peated with locally grown peat (40 ppm) and distilled on Forsyth copper pot stills • Matured in ex-bourbon, sherry, red wine, & locally grown Hokkaido Mizunara casks • Non-age statement • Notes of milk chocolate and dried fruit with a touch of hickory bonfire followed by cocoa powder-bitterness and sweet citrus oil • 55% ABV • US Release of 492 bottles • This is the third release in Akkeshi’s “24 Solar Term” Series, a collection inspired by an ancient lunar calendar that divides the year into 24 seasons. “Boshu” loosely translates to “the sowing of grain” and refers to the season that typically begins on July 9th and is considered the ideal time to plant. This is also the season when flickering fireflies appear, which is referenced on the label of this bottling.
